Where do I start

As long as you are genuinely considering Environmental Health as a career choice, most Councils are willing to provide you with relevant work experience.
If you are still at school or 6th form you may well need to discuss this with the relevant teachers first and arrange it through school as part of their work experience programme. If you have left school, just contact the Councils direct. The Council should be able to show you a wide variety of issues and you will get to talk to officers who actually do the job. Councils across the Region are supporting this website and have agreed to participate in the work experience scheme.

Work Experience

Work experience is available at the following areas.

It couldn’t be easier to get in touch. Choose the County you live in below and then select your local Council. Click select and you will link to an online application letter. Add your details to the letter and send it off. The Council will then contact with further details of work experience availability.
